Instagram announced (27-10-2021) that link stickers for Instagram stories are now available to everyone – regardless of the follower count number.
This means you can now add web links to your Instagram stories and drive traffic to your website even if you have less than 10k followers.
If you don’t have access to link stickers just yet, sit tight, it may take a few days to see the link sticker option live on your Instagram stories.
About the link sticker option on an Instagram Story
Once published, an Instagram story disappears after 24 hours (Unless you save it in one of your highlights folders).

THE LINK STICKER ISSUE ON INSTAGRAM STORIES IS NOW SOLVED!
Before October 2021, the link functionality on an Instagram story was only available to:
- Verified accounts or
- Business accounts with 10k+ followers
Yeah, that’s right, people were not able to access the link sticker option on an Instagram story because either the Instagram account was not officially verified by Instagram or the account did not have at least 10.000 followers.
Below is the Instagram account verification process in case you still want to verify your Instagram account.
Instagram account verification – Steps
- Log in to your Instagram account
- Click on the three horizontal lines icon at the top right
- Click on the settings icon
- Click on “Account”
- Click on “Request Verification”
- An online form will appear, fill it in with your details
- Attach a photo of your ID (Instagram requires a Government-issued photo ID that shows your name and date of birth (e,g. driver’s license, passport or national identification card) or official business documents (tax filing, recent utility bill, article of incorporation) to review your request.
- Ensure all the info is correct, you will not be able to edit or modify your request.
- Click the “Send” photo
- Wait until Instagram notifies you about your verification status (it might take a couple of weeks).
- Once approved, people were able to have the link sticker option for Instagram stories. But as said before, Since October 2021, you do not need to verify your account to have access to the link sticker option.
