Tip: If you run Google Ads (former Adwords) and if you want to use the Google Ads conversion tag, make sure is implemented on your Google Tag Manager and not directly coded into your Avada theme in WordPress.

GOOGLE TAG MANAGER IN AVADA THEME – SET UP STEPS

ok! Let’s get ready to set up GTA on Avada theme WordPress

OPTION 1:

Follow these steps:

  1. Login to Google Tag Manager
  2. Go to Admin>Container>Install Google Tag Manager
  3. You will find two codes you need to copy and paste on your Avada theme. Keep that page and open a new window
  4. In the new window, log in to your Avada theme WordPress website
  5. Click on “Appearance” then click on “Options
  6. Then click on “General
  7. Go to the “Space before </head>” box and paste the first part of your unique Google Tag Manager code
  8. Now Go to the “Space before </body>” box and paste the second part of your unique Google Tag Manager code.
  9. Click “Save all changes
  10. Viola! Congrats! Your Google Tag Manager is now implemented on your Avada theme WordPress site 🙂

OPTION 2:

This is a second alternative option for setting up Google Tag Manager on your Avada Theme in WordPress.

Follow these steps:

  1. Login to Google Tag Manager
  2. Go to Admin>Container>Install Google Tag Manager
  3. You will find two codes you need to copy and paste on your Avada theme. Keep that page and open a new window.
  4. In the new window, log in to your Avada theme WordPress website
  5. Click on “Appearance then click onTheme Editor
  6. Then on the vertical menu on the left column, find “Header.php“. The header.php file also contains the body tag.
  7. Once you are inside the “Header.php“, paste the first Tag Manager code below the <header> tag and then paste the second code below the <body> tag.
  8. Click on the “Update file” button located at the bottom of the page.
  9. Viola! Congrats! Your Google Tag Manager is now implemented on your Avada theme WordPress site 🙂

Make sure you either implement Option 1 or Option 2.

Do NOT implement both.
